Not a Crappy Doctor
Jun. 1st, 2006 | 07:13 pm
If you live in Wichita, Dr. E. Jeanne Kroeker is not evil. She is, in fact, cool.

OMG
May. 16th, 2006 | 09:51 pm
I was turned down for the morning-after pill by my doctor. Fortunately, I was just wanting it to be prepared, but still. If you live in Wichita, don't go to Dr. Rebecca Green.

Killing time

Up early, waiting for Royals tickets to go on sale. No, I'm not going crazy- all the tickets to see the Cards play in StL are sold out, so I'm taking a shot at getting tickets to see them cream the Royals.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
"Compared to the relative simplicity of the Polynesian sequences, the Welsh results were all over the place."
Bryan Sykes, "The Seven Daughters of Eve." And I did have to search, but I don't keep books by my computer.

Job!
Dec. 27th, 2005 | 06:33 pm
I have a new job- I go in for orientation on Friday afternoon (so I get on the payroll in 2005, and therefore can participate in profit sharing in '06), and start next Wednesday. I wanted a long weekend. The pay is way better- about $4k a year more.

Work is boring. This is not keeping my mind off things. I bought urns. Cried some more. My friends are awesome, and that includes e-friends. Tarki the Icon Kitty is sleeping in my room for now and if Jer doesn't like it that's his problem.

The Internet Thinks I Need to Move
Dec. 14th, 2005 | 07:02 pm
Stolen from
wakarusa
| Rowhouse 'Hood You scored 35 out of 40 on urban-rural and 22 out of 40 land intensity. |
| People know you as: The Bohemian Gentrifier Quote: "That crack house just needed a little paint." Your score indicates that you are a city-dweller of the old-school. You like a dense, finely grained neighborhood with restaurants, churches and brothels all on the same block. Although you've never spoken to him personally, you know that guy Eddie down the street is a pimp and you're sure to tell your lame suburban friends about him at every opportunity, just to freak them out. The bad news is that as more and more people like you move into your neighborhood it gradually becomes less cool and more expensive. Enjoy things while you can, because in 5 years you're going to have to move to the next 'hood uptown. Examples of places you should live: Baltimore, Philadelphia Secluded Hideaway / Farm or Ranch / Small Town / Little City / Suburb / Streetcar Suburb / Rowhouse 'Hood / Downtown Loft |

On the Internet
Dec. 5th, 2005 | 09:25 pm
I assume everyone on the Internet is female until they tell me otherwise. Or unless they are called something like BobtheReallyMachoMan.

Not dead or stuck in Colby
Nov. 29th, 2005 | 03:59 pm
I successfully made it back from Colorado. It was interesting. We had a rental car- a Hyundai Santa Fe. I have much love for this vehicle in the snow. I'm still dehydrated from the whole "not drinking to avoid more stops than are necessary," and I'm very glad not to be stuck in some church gym out in Western Kansas.
Oh yeah- I can KIP this weekend.

Huh.
Nov. 21st, 2005 | 04:31 pm
So, one of my coworkers is married to the director of the YMCA where I work out (hypothetically- due to stupid road construction, I haven't been in in over 2 months). Said coworker's spouse asked said coworker to ask me if I would like to be on the Board of Directors. It's volunteer, with meetings 1-2 times a month. Huh.
